Garner Town Council to get preliminary feedback on budget tonight | The Garner Citizen

What should the town of Garner be funding? Tonight’s Town Council meeting will include a preliminary public hearing about the 2010-2011 budget. Citizens will have a chance to discuss the programs or projects they feel should be included in the proposed budget.

For many residents right now, that probably includes keeping the Southeast Regional Library open.

The Council meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Meeting Room. (The town confirmed this afternoon that the meeting is still being held.)

Homeschoolers plan another protest at Southeast Regional Library | The Garner Citizen

Garner’s homeschool community wants Wake County to know how much it depends on Southeast Regional library. A group of local homeschoolers plans to protest outside SERL for the fourth straight day this afternoon, from 4 to 5 p.m.

The protests have received attention from media outlets such as ABC-11 and The Garner Citizen.

The homeschoolers have planned another for Wednesday, Feb. 3 in front of SERL.
