Not only do I take my daughter to this library....her daycare receives books from it as well! If it isnt there then our children suffer, all ages! In a time where our governor is SOOOO pro-education our county commissioners decide to close a branch of a library! Are you kidding me??? You know, I see her on a daily basis maybe I will mention this idea to her and see how she can influence the commissioners to keep it open!

I agree that the library is of utmost importance to the Garner community. Though I have lived her a little more than a year, I don't believe I would have considered relocating here if there had not been what I consider essentials--and a public library is high on my list. I have emailed and signed the petition and intend to continue protesting the possible closure of the library. I encourage everyone who stands for the library to do the same.

Libraries provide exposure to information and resources as well as the sharing of past knowledge, current ideas, and the building of new knowledge that may not be accessible to some if at all. Undoubtedly, citizens can help with creative and democratic ideas for funding and support. Leaders don't always have the best ideas and are responsible for coordinating ideas to promote short term and long term public support and the welfare of the community in competitive, ever changing local, national, and international environments. Scatter the library users and community cohesiveness, the flexibility to problem solve, and maintaining trust in leaders are made more challenging.

I've sent letters to Frank Cope and Davie Cooke and a thank you note to Lindy Brown and I emailed my letters to all of the commissioners. I am really digging in for this fight. I even emailed the Governor. She doesn't make the decision, but she IS a resident of Wake County and a former educator. I thought she might have something to say about this that might have some pull with the Commissioners.

This is terrible for the whole community. They can't take such an important resource from us.

I have a great idea for us to use in an attention grabbing protest for our commissioners.

I would like everyone to send by mail to the county commissioners more mail than they could handle, The idea would be everyone who does not want SER Library to close, to send a postcard with their opposition and a photo in front of or inside the library with a message on the back opposing the closure.

As they always say, "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words". We can print our own postcards from a computer or use an online service.

Just a thought!

Why do all things related to our children learning become the first things to be cut from budgets?

Let's face the facts of my children all have 25 plus students in their classes now. That number in the past was less than 15 and why is that the case?

It is absolutely not acceptable for any set of county commissioners to continue this assult on our community learning pillars.
